There are a variety of different ways to treat termites depending on the type of termite, how advanced the infestation is, and how big of a problem you’re facing. Our team will first conduct an inspection of your home or commercial property to assess these factors, then we’ll be able to recommend a treatment method that is right for your situation.

One of the most effective options is an undetectable chemical that is a non-repellant. Termites can’t see, smell, or taste this chemical, which has a delayed toxicity. This means that the termites can spread the exposure to this chemical to other termites within the treatment area and even to the underlying colony. Because of the delayed toxicity, this option is a long-term treatment option that takes a few months to work most effectively but has long-lasting protection. 

Other treatment options include borate treatments or foaming penetrants. When applied to affected areas, the treatment sinks into the wood and causes the wood to become toxic to certain types of termites.

Before starting treatment for our Gastonia, Charlotte, or Monroe customers, we will always begin with an inspection.

1. We start the process by scoping out the areas you would like inspected. We’ll need access to your home, garage, crawl space, attic, and wherever else termites may reside.
2. The next step is to search for evidence of termite activity. As we mentioned earlier, this often includes several key signs. Among other things, our experts will search for:

• Mud tubes - Think of a mud tube like a miniature highway for termites. It’s how they get safely from point A to point B in their living spaces. Not all types of termites make these, but if present, they are a definite flag for termite activity.
• Wood damage - Our inspectors check for signs of hollowed-out wood.
• Frass - Frass is the word for termite droppings. An expert can tell the difference between frass and other types of insect droppings.
• Swarm evidence - Termites often shed their wings before a swarm where they look for a new spot to feast on. This evidence will typically be present in the spring.

Once the inspection is complete, our termite experts will review their findings with you and recommend next steps if there is evidence of a termite infestation.
